Baptism

In the Baptist family of churches, Believer’s Baptism and The Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances practiced in the church. Baptism is a natural step for a person who has become a Christian believer. Full immersion signifies repentance and the washing away of our past sins and as we rise up from the water we begin a new life in Christ.

New believers are encouraged to take the baptism step soon after they become believers. Making the commitment early can be a life-changing experience, helping a person to move forward with a secure Christian foundation, but it is never too late to take the step.

“As soon as Jesus was baptised, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.”

KBC currently has its own baptistry underneath the platform. The person to be baptised is joined in the pool by a helper and the Pastor who conduct the baptism in front of the congregation as witnesses.

If you are a believer based in Orkney and wish to discuss the possibility of being baptised at KBC, please Contact us.
